Hi, I'm Freya.
I love flowers, art and floral design. I have been an artist and floral designer for over 25 years. First specializing in events, I then opened my first brick and mortar store, Brother & Sisters Flowershop, in 2016.
Art
My artwork centers around mythical and botanical themes. I work large scale, mainly in Sumi ink with other organic materials. I host open studios quarterly.
2014
Pop Ups
People often ask "Why the name Brother & Sisters?" We started doing popups in 2014 as a fun way to get the kids involved in the family business. When it came time to choose a name for my brick-and-mortar shop, it was my middle daughter who looked to either side and said, "How about Brother & Sisters?" That's how we came into being, with each of my 3 kids working at the flowershop over the years.
2016
Grand Fare Market
A family venture with my husband, Grand Fare Market was a grand vision: a hybrid market, restaurant, bakery, and cafe. Beloved by the neighborhood for its al fresco dining, it was the launchpad for Brother & Sisters flowershop.
2018
Brick & Mortar
In 2018 we began construction on the greenhouse, which became the heart of our current store. Now our urban oasis consists of a greenhouse, floral studio, lush gardens, covered outdoor classroom and indoor workshop space.
